The River Valley/Parkview tennis team showed up to the Mark Reilly Tennis Center this past Saturday with one goal in mind: Finish in the top half of the tournament. The players had something else in mind and exceeded their coaches expectations by finishing Runner Up for the Clark/Floyd Tournament 2023. Sixth grade sensation, Emerson Crawford who had a great day won his first two matches easily and battled in the Championship but fell short and finished as the Runner Up at #1 singles. Easton Owens a 6th grader stepped up and played in a position he hasn’t played all season and finished 3rd place at #2 singles. Owens was down 7-3 in his last match and finished strong to overcome the deficit to win 8-7. 8th grader, Grant Smith, made the most of his last match as a member of the middle school tennis team and was crowned the champion at #3 singles. The #1 Doubles team of 7th graders Ryder and Rylan Humphreys of Parkview Finished 4th place.
