JEFF MIDDLE SCHOOL TEAM FINISHES RUNNER-UP IN REGIONAL TOURNAMENT
The River Valley/Parkview tennis team showed up to the Mark Reilly Tennis Center this past Saturday with one goal in mind: Finish in the top half of the tournament. The players had something else in mind and exceeded their coaches expectations by finishing Runner Up for the Clark/Floyd Tournament 2023.
Sixth grade sensation, Emerson Crawford who had a great day won his first two matches easily and battled in the Championship but fell short and finished as the Runner Up at #1 singles.
Easton Owens a 6th grader stepped up and played in a position he hasn’t played all season and finished 3rd place at #2 singles. Owens was down 7-3 in his last match and finished strong to overcome the deficit to win 8-7.
8th grader, Grant Smith, made the most of his last match as a member of the middle school tennis team and was crowned the champion at #3 singles.
The #1 Doubles team of 7th graders Ryder and Rylan Humphreys of Parkview Finished 4th place.
The #2 doubles team of 6th grader LaRon Robinson and 6th grader Maddux Dobson finished in 3rd place. The combination of Dobson and Robinson won the first match of the day, fell their 2nd match of the day but rebounded with a crucial 3rd place finish.
Overall, Team Jeff performed well and had a lot to be proud of, finishing Runner-Up in the 2023 Clark/Floyd Tournament!
Thanks to Coaches Brent Rogers and Chris Wilt on their time and efforts this season with the Jeff middle school team. Team Jeff finished the season 6-3 overall and have a strong team coming back next season. Great job boys!
